You've been working on your novel for years. You've drafted, edited, agonised, and finally it's ready for public consumption. What now? Time to get that novel on the shelf!
In conjunction with the Writers of the Far South Coast, Dr L.J.M. Owen presents Getting it on the Shelf, a workshop exploring options for publishing a manuscript in Australia. Over 2.5 hours we walk through the practical steps and decision points that will allow you to move toward either self-publishing or submitting to an agent or publisher.
We'll cover:
• Self- and traditional publishing, which is right for you?
• Steps and decisions in self-publishing, including timelines and costs
• Steps and considerations in traditional publishing, including your three key documents, agents and the submission process
• The roles of social media, writers festivals, libraries, booksellers and writers centres
Tickets will be available shortly through WFSC. Please check back on 19 February for further details.
