The game was most definitely afoot in November! I was thrilled to have my first piece of short fiction, The Adventure of the Lazarus Child, published in Sherlock Holmes: The Australian Casebook.
The anthology sees Mr. Holmes and his dependable medical companion explore the antipodean colonies in 1890. Wonderful writers such as Kerry Greenwood & Lindy Cameron, Kaaron Warren, Meg Keneally, Narrelle Harris and so many others have woven a rich tapestry within its pages.
My tale begins with Holmes and Watson alighting from a train at Queanbeyan station to investigate reports of a drowned boy returned to life. An extract may be found here.
I celebrated the release in high Holmesian style with a bookish romp across Canberra and Queanbeyan. The Canberra Times joined in with a lovely article on the locally-set story. My first foray into the Sherlockian world so enjoyable I plan to return soon.
